After checking that your computer meets the requirements and activating your account,
you are ready to install Thomson Reuters Eikon:
1. Go to https://customers.thomsonreuters.com/Eikon/

USE THOMSON REUTERS EIKON MOBILE
Thanks to the single sign-on (SSO) solution with single exchange
fees, you can fully access your Thomson Reuters Eikon desktop
in the office, at home, or while traveling. Thomson Reuters Eikon
Mobile is available for devices including smartphones and tablets.

Should none of these solutions work, please contact Thomson Reuters:
1. Click the Contact Us link in the Sign In dialog box.
2. Fill in the Contact Us page that appears, and click Submit.

The My Profile page lets you customize
your personal profile. This information
appears in the Thomson Reuters financial
directory and improves the results of peoplerelated searches. You can edit your profile
information at any time.
1.On the home page, scroll down until you
see your profile in the left column. Click
Edit Profile for customization options.
2.Choose the section you want to edit.
Tip: In Privacy Settings, you can decide who
sees what information. You have control
over the privacy of your public profile.
3.Customize the fields of your profile.
For example, add a photo that will
be visible in the Thomson Reuters
financial directory.

Instantly navigate to anywhere in Thomson Reuters Eikon using the Search box. Simply start typing
what you want to find and Autosuggest will give you immediate feedback.

For example, start typing Vodafone in the Search box. Selecting VOD.L will take you to the in-depth
Company Overview including analysis tools. Access real-time data by clicking the Quote, News or
Chart links in the upper right corner of your screen. Trade directly from this view by clicking Trade links
in the same area.
Answers: a cutting-edge search tool that understands your questions
You can also type a query using natural language. Thomson Reuters Eikon Answers will appear at the
top of the results.
For example, type What is Google’s P/E? Answers displays the company’s current P/E ratios, and
provides links to further analysis tools.
For more information about the power of Answers and to see examples, type ANSWERS in the Search
box and choose the top result.

The Flex environment is a customizable
information display. You can combine
market data, apps, and views according to
your needs. Here’s how to get started:
1. Click the arrow and choose Flex Document.
2.Choose an asset class and click the Flex
document layout you want, or start from
a blank Flex.
3.Add apps to your Flex document panes.
You can add, remove, resize, or
move panes.

View related information
Add apps to your document
Related features give you access to apps, views, news, or calculators that are relevant to the data you
are currently looking at. The list of related features varies according to the instrument you are viewing
and the app you are using.
With Thomson Reuters Eikon, you can use a wide range of apps to perform specific functions.

Tip: You can also insert any real-time app that you opened from the home page into your Flex
document. Just click the pop-in/pop-out arrow in the upper right of the app.

You can open several Flex documents and home pages in Thomson Reuters Eikon. You can also view
several Flex documents and/or home pages at the same time:
• Drag a Flex document/home page tab and drop it outside the current window. A new window
opens with the selected tab.

• Press Shift+F3 to open a new window.

Link apps so they work together
III. ORGANIZE AND CUSTOMIZE YOUR WORKSPACE
Apps can work alone, or you can link them together to harness the power and flexibility of
Thomson Reuters Eikon. You can link apps within a Flex document, or link to pop-up windows
so that they share data.
Use toolbar settings for quick access to the features you use the most
You can customize toolbars in Flex documents or apps to show the features you use most frequently.

in the toolbar and select Choose Toolbar Buttons.
1. Insert apps in your Flex document. For example, insert the Quote List, Option Watch, and News Apps.
2. Select or clear the required item(s) in the menu.
2. Right-click any app in your Flex document, and choose Link to.
Any changes you make to an app toolbar will apply to all apps of that type.
• All open apps appear in the list, including pop-ups.
• The source has a yellow background, the target (in this case a Quote pop-up) a green one.
Tip: To make the most of your screen real estate, go to
Hide All.

Note: You can link from another app to a pop-up, but the pop-up cannot be the source app.

Save commonly-used items as favorites to find them quickly
You can add various types of items to your Favorites for easy retrieval later on. Your Favorites can
include documents, templates, and apps such as charts or news. You can open the Favorites pane
by clicking
in the top right of any Thomson Reuters Eikon screen.
To add a document or app to Favorites
You must save a document or app before you can add it to your Favorites.

• Right-click an app and then click File > Favorites > Add to Favorites

To use favorite apps and documents
Using your favorite apps and documents, you can:
• organize favorites into categories in the Favorites pane
• insert a favorite app into a Flex document
• drag and drop a favorite app or document to your workspace
• share favorites with other Thomson Reuters Eikon users (go to
or Export)
Tip: You can save your customized workspace as a startup file. Go to
Workspace, and select Set this workspace as the startup file.

Quick Charts are set up to guide you
along a particular workflow, for quick
and easy charting and technical analysis.
1.In a Flex document, click Insert and
choose Quick Charts.
2.Choose from the list of pre-defined
charts, organized by asset class.
In this example, choose Technical
Analysis Chart.
3.In Base Instrument, type an instrument
code and press Enter, then choose an
interval and analysis type.

and click Add. The analysis (in this
case, Absolute Change) appears in
the chart.
5.Use the toolbar buttons to adjust
your chart. For example, you can turn
the legend on or off, or change the
x- or y-axes.

Tip: You can link a Quick Chart to
another app to send information
to your chart with just a click. For
example, link a Quick Chart to a
Quote List, so that when you doubleclick an instrument in your Quote

Thomson Reuters Eikon Excel is a Microsoft Office Excel COM add-in. You can retrieve
real-time, fundamental, and Time Series (historical) data in Microsoft Excel worksheets for
advanced analysis. When Thomson Reuters Eikon is installed, the add-in loads automatically
in Microsoft Excel. Follow these steps to sign into Thomson Reuters Eikon Excel:
1. Start Microsoft Excel.
2.Click the Thomson Reuters tab to open the Thomson Reuters Eikon Excel menu.
3.Click Sign In and type your Thomson Reuters Eikon credentials when prompted.

Adfin Analytics is a set of powerful cross-market financial calculation libraries. The libraries are
targeted for financial spreadsheet users and developers of financial applications. The libraries
can be used in different environments, for example in Thomson Reuters Eikon Excel.
Tip: In Thomson Reuters Eikon Excel, go to Formulas > Insert Function to access the Adfin
Analytics functions.

By default, the page shows news based on
your job role and asset class.

Reuters Top News to display the leading
headlines from Reuters.
3.Run a search for your topic of interest,
or click Advanced Search.
4.In Advanced News Search, you can define
several criteria to get the news that interests
you the most. You can save searches for easy
retrieval. Saved searches are available in News
and Research > My News.
