Bathtub fittings comes as standard with award-winning
Multiplex range is simplified: Flat functional
units for flexible assembly
Frankfurt/Attendorn, 10th March 2015 – For decades, the “Multiplex” and
“Multiplex Trio” fittings from Viega have been setting standards in
technology and design when it comes to the filling and drainage of
bathtubs. Now, the manufacturer has significantly simplified the range
and improved it again in terms of technology. There is now only one
particularly flat functional unit for all bathtub fittings. Equipped either
with or without an inlet function, the “Multiplex” or “Multiplex Trio”
functional unit is ideal for installation in bathtubs with narrow rims. The
equipment set designs have also been simplified. The new complete
fittings sets are now supplied with the designer “Visign M5” equipment
set for the Multiplex and “Visign MT5” for the Multiplex Trio.
By simplifying the functional units of the Multiplex tub fittings with a smaller
installation depth of just 33 mm, specialist shops and the trade need less stock
and storage space. At the same time, the fitter can react more quickly and
flexibly to customer requirements, as the fittings can now be used for virtually
any tub type, even those with narrow rims. Further technical optimisations
concern the new flexible overflow pipe - which adjusts easily to the contours of
the tub - and the improved anti-kink mechanism of the Bowden wires. With the
“Multiplex Trio”, the angle of the water jet can also be individually adjusted.
Well-designed rotating collars for actuation
In line with customer requirements, Viega is now offering the “Multiplex” and
“Multiplex Trio” complete fittings sets as standard with the “Visign M5” or
“Visign MT5” rotating collars. The “Visign M3” and “Visign MT3” equipment
sets with narrow bases can also be used for the “Multiplex” and “Multiplex
Trio” functional units. The new functional units fulfil particular comfort
requirements when combined with the “Multiplex Visign M9” or “Multiplex Trio

level in the tub can be increased by five centimetres “above normal”.
Viega is also adapting the Rotaplex fittings for bathtubs with 90 mm drain
holes to fit the Multiplex range in terms of equipment and design.

About the company:
Worldwide, more than 3.500 people are employed by the Viega Group, which is
among the leading manufacturers of installation technology. Viega is working to
continue its long-term success at nine locations. While production is concentrated at
its four main sites in Germany, the McPherson/USA group manufactures solutions
specially designed for the North American market. And the Wuxi/China site focuses on
production for the Asian market. Installation technology as a core skill drives growth
forward. Pre-wall and drainage technology belong to the product range alongside
piping systems. The range consists of approximately 17,000 articles, which are used
nearly everywhere: in building services installations, in utilities or in industrial plant
construction and shipbuilding.
The family-owned business was founded in Attendorn, Germany, in 1899. In the
1960s, the course was set for the internationalisation of the group. Viega brand
products are used all over the world. Distribution mainly takes place via sales and
marketing organisations in the respective countries.
