SCAMGUARD: The New York Festivals® has long been aware of and proactively involved
in preventing so-called "scam ads" - ads that either never ran, ran without the consent of the
client, or were ripped off from other agencies, from being awarded. SCAMGUARD is a
system whereby GrandJuryâ„¢ judges are encouraged to privately "flag" a suspected scam ad
simply by checking a box when viewing an entry online. Additionally, judges are encouraged
to write confidential comments online to support their suspicions. Upon being flagged, an
investigation into the allegations will follow.
In the past few years we have denied or disqualified entries based on the evidence collected
from our judges. We applaud recent efforts of other award shows to prevent scam ads from
being awarded and hope that all award shows follow suit towards eliminating scam ads from
the awards industry.
SPEC ADS ARE ALLOWED: Spec Ads created as tests, but not approved by an advertiser,
are allowed in a special category for work done on spec, on one's own time and money to
demonstrate their creative capabalities. Please see Special Categories section under each

15. CREDITS
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SUPPLYING CREDITS FOR AWARDS, IN
VIDEOS, PUBLICATIONS, PRESS RELEASES, WEBSITES AND AT OUR
SHOWCASING VENUES.
During the entering process, you will be required to enter Your Company Name, the Client,
Brand or Sponsor Name, the Title of Your Entry and the Names and Titles of the people and
or companies associated with the creation of the work that is being entered. It is VERY
IMPORTANT that you use the proper case and the correct spelling because we cannot be held
responsible for typographical errors on awards.
The credits information you enter will be listed on your award, on screen, in publications, in
press releases, on our website and in our showcasing venues, so please enter all credits
correctly then click the "Print Credits for Approval" button so you, or your supervisor, can
approve the spelling and the hierarchical (ranking) order of the names. Receiving all of the
credits submitted by you up front is the most important step for us because we cannot
complete the processing of your entries until we have all of your valuable data.
We recognize many of you have a lot of work to do during awards season and entering credits
correctly and gathering the work to be submitted can be very time consuming and frustrating.
We also hope you will be sympathetic to our situation, in that we have a relatively small
window to process thousands of entries, organize them by categories, get them judged three
times by hundreds of jury members around the world, engrave credits on trophies and
certificates and finally, announce to the world the work that has earned awards. Thank you for
your understanding and cooperation.
The most important item for us is, after you have uploaded your actual entries, is to
receive the actual entries as soon as possible so we can begin processing your entries.
Recognizing that it takes a long time to enter credits correctly, we will give you a grace period
of up to 30 days after our original published deadline date to make changes, corrections,
additions, or deletions to your credits. However, after those 30 days, a $60 fee per entry will
be charged for changes, corrections, additions or deletions to the credits because we will have
to go into our database and manually make those changes. So please enter and proof all of
your credits before you submit your entries to avoid any additional charges later.
We cannot be responsible for credit errors or omissions on your part and therefore requests for
replacement nameplates on trophies or replacement certificates will be billed at our normal
prices plus shipping, handling and duty charges.
CHARACTER LIMITS: When entering your credits, please be aware there is a maximum
number of characters (letters, symbols and spaces) per line. Using Upper and Lower Case
characters is limited to 60 per line. Using all UPPER CASE CHARACTERS is limited to 50
per line. You will be able to see how your credits look before you move to the next page.
New York Festivals uses Your Awards Company, Inc. to process all of your entries into our
competitions and we are delighted with the services they provide for us. Now they offer a
unique service to advertising agencies to enter your credits for a nominal fee of $100 per
entry into any of our competitions. They are now also providing complete entering services,
including the uploading of your work. If you would like them to do all of the work that is
involved in entering our competitions or just to assist you with entering your credits, send an
email to them requesting more information. [email protected]
We know you will find that the recent improvements in New York Festivals International
