Lesson 21

Introducing a new letter and the present singular form of verb to love ( ‫ )ح ـ ـب‬and slaughter ( ‫)ب وح‬
Objectives:
1. Introducing and Practicing writing and reading the letter ‫ ح‬in its different positions
2. Reviewing reading and writing the other 9 letters within reading and writing words
3. Introducing the verb to love and say (declares- reveal) in their present form with the five
singular subject pronouns . These two verbs have been chosen because both include the letter ‫ح‬
in its different positions.
4. All this will be done through different activities done in class and others that will be given as
homework.
Material:
1. Board

Standards:
1.2. Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics.
3.1 Students reinforce their knowledge of other disciplines through the foreign language students
demonstrate.
4.1understanding of the nature of language through comparisons of the language studied and their
own
Procedures:
1. Warm up: Reviewing quickly the following letters on the board : ‫ ب – أ‬- ‫ ي‬- ‫ ت – ن‬- ‫ ث‬- ‫– و – ه‬
‫ ذ‬and reviewing the words ‫ أنـت – هـــو – هــي – أنا – هـــذا – هـذه‬- ‫بيــت – ب اب ا‬
2. Writing the letter ‫ ح‬, sounding it , then writing the two verbs ‫ ح ـ ـ ـ ـب‬- ‫ بوح‬and ask students
to try to read the two words by sounding each letter then trying to join them to read the word
3. Then we read the two letters , saying their meaning and circling the letter ‫ ح‬in each ,
stressing on the difference in the way the letter is written according to its position.
4. Then we will give them activity handout 1 which is a practice on reading and writing the two
verbs in their present form with the five singular subject pronouns.
5. This will be done in class and through it the students will see that for the two verbs the same
prefix is added at the beginning according to the change of the pronoun and also the ending in
some cases differ :

‫ يبوح‬- ‫يحـب‬
‫تحـــب – تبوح‬
‫تحـــب – تبوح‬
‫تحــبي – تبوحي‬
6. I will give them the homework sheet which focuses on the same concept : practicing the
different prefixes added to both verbs with different singular pronouns and practicing reading
the sentence written
7. Activity two : Word puzzle : Search for the word : I will give them the instructions clearly after
giving them the handout where they will have to find in every horizontal line one of the ten
words given to them and also to write the word twice in the empty blank next to each word.
8. If the time doesn’t permit us to finish activity handout 2 in class , then they will be asked to
finish it as part of their homework
