Equipment: fleshcards of toys, toys, pictures of toys, posters of toys, computer, Welcome Starter B DVD, Super Minds 1-1CD , Super Minds book, bag THE PROCEDURE OF THE LESSON: 1. Organizing a lesson. Greetings. Teacher: Good morning pupils. How are you? Pupils: I’m fine, thank you. Teacher: I’m glad to see you. 2. Lexical warm-up Teacher: Look what I’ve got in my bag. What’s this? The pupils ask questions trying to guess what toy is inside the bag. Pupil 1: Is it a car? Pupil 2: No. Pupil 3: Is it a puzzle? Pupil 2: No. Teacher: Yes, it’s a doll. Pupils say a poem: One and two I and you 2 One and two Who are you? Teacher: I’m Polly. And what’s your name? The pupils in turn say their names. Then they say the poem about a doll. Pupils: I’ve got a doll My doll is tall. I’ve got a ball My ball is small. 3. Phonetic warm-up Teacher: Today we’re going to speak about toys. Let’s remember what toys we know. The teacher whispers the names of toys and children repeat them loudly (doll, car, ball, train, puzzle, kite) 4. Developing listening skills The pupils listen to the teacher, look into their books and put a tick or a cross near the picture. SB 28 (Addition 1) 5. Revision of vocabulary Teacher: And now we are going to watch a computer. Your task will be to look at the picture and answer the questions. The pupils watch the pictures, listen to the questions and answer them. Then they listen to and check their answers. (from Welcome Startrer B DVD, unit 3) Teacher: Now your task will be to ask each other about toys. The pupils in pairs ask each other questions looking at the cards. Pupil 1: What’s this? Pupil 2: It’s a … (ball, kite, doll etc.) The pupils look at the cards and count toys there (Addition 2). 6. Physical warm-up Clap your hands (x2) Listen to the music And clap your hands. 3 Stamp your feet (x2) Listen to the music And stamp your feet. Turn around (x2) Listen to the music And turn around. 7. Developing listening skills Teacher: Open your books please. What can you see there? Now we’ll listen and colour these toys. The pupils listen to the tape script and colour the toys. WB 28 (Addition 3) 8. Developing speaking skills Teacher: Let’s show and tell about our favourite toys. The pupils show and say about their favourite toys. Pupil 1: It’s a car. It’s small. It’s red. Pupil 2: It’s a ball. It’s big. It’s yellow. 9. Revision of letters The pupils revise the letters they’ve learnt. Each pupil has got a letter.
