“July.People.Power – Collective Memory in the Making”
The July of 2003 was a remarkable one in the history of Hong Kong. 500,000 people marched in
peace on the first day of it and, tens of thousands of them rallied on another, and still another; all but with
only one single purpose in mind - to show the government their determination to speak out for themselves.
Those were the moments when Hong Kong, with the power of its people, caught the limelight of the world
and gained its admiration. Those were also the striking moments with which July 2003 engraved itself on
the collective memory of the Hong Kong people. Were you there to witness history?
“July.People.Power–Collective Memory in the Making” is organised by the Civil Human Rights
