INTRODUCTION
Since ancient times people have invented new words for the names of
different objects and phenomena in all languages of the world. This process does
not stop and continues today as the world is evolving and changing, and science
does not stand still. These new words are called neologisms. Neologisms exist in
all spheres of human life, but especially a lot of them appear in the literature. Every
author wants to distinguish somehow himself among others, to invent something
unusual in his work that no one else had before. And such neologisms are often a
problem for translators as they could not be found in a dictionary or in any other
sources.
The present graduation bachelor paper deals with the study of the author's
neologisms and with the difficulties of their translation.
The objective of our research is to analyse how author's neologisms are
coined, what the purpose of their coining is in the fiction for the children and
which ways of translation are most suitable in this case. We will specify the
method of translation the translators use depending on the kind of the neologism
and its frequency. The research is based on the analysis of Joanne Rowling's novel
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" as one of the most popular examples of the
book for children which contains a lot of neologisms.
According to the objective of this bachelor paper, we can identify the
following tasks:
 to investigate the different kind of neologisms in the novel "Harry
Potter and the Deathly Hollows”;
 to find out the difficulties of the translation of neologisms;
 to select the main methods of author's neologisms translation ;
 to explore the peculiarities of the source language and the ways of
rendering into the target one;
 to analyze the different variants of translation of one neologism to
find out the criteria of their comparison;
 to compare the original neologism and its translation into other
languages from the point of view of its equivalence;
 to make the statistics on the chosen method of translation in different
types of neologisms and their appropriateness or irrelevance
depending on the language.
The topicality is explained by the profound interest to the peculiarities of
different languages used in the neologisms translation and the importance of their
study for the students who are interested in different ways of their translation in the
fiction.
The scientific novelty of the bachelor paper is defined by the concrete result
of investigation that can be useful for future studies.
The methods of investigations used in this bachelor paper are:
 descriptive method;
 the method of classification;
 comparative and translation methods;
 the method of component analysis.
The theoretical significance of the bachelor paper is based on the necessity
of detailed analyses of difficulties of the neologisms translation from one language
into another (English into Russian and English into Italian) in order to single out
the peculiarities of different languages in the translation.
The practical significance of the research is defined by the results of the
study, which can help to understand the features of the neologism coined by one or
another way of its formation as well as the dependence of the way of neologism
translation on the type of neologism in children fiction.
The present bachelor paper consists of an Introduction, Chapter 1 “Overview
of neologisms in the lexical system of modern languages and the peculiarities of
their translation”, Chapter 2 “Classification and analysis of the neologisms
translation in Joanne Rowling’s novel “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”,
Conclusion and References including the list of sources which were used in our
work. The introduction represents the main tasks of the research and the methods
used to achieve these tasks. Chapter 1 “Overview of neologisms in the lexical
system of modern English” is a general description of different kinds of neologism
coining, types and modes of translation, peculiarities of neologism translation and
its difficulties. Chapter 2 “Classification and analysis of the neologisms translation
in Joanne Rowling’s novel “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is an analysis
of the neologisms from the novel "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows", their
different variants of translation from English into Russian and from English into
Italian. Peculiarities of their translation depending on the language as well as the
comparison between the original and translated neologisms in their meaning,
pronunciation and expressiveness are discussed.
We will analyse several types of neologisms from the novel "Harry Potter
and Healthy Hollows" according to the way they were coined and their translated
versions in the Italian official translation of Beatrice Masini, Russian official
translation of Maya Lakhuti and Sergey Ilyin, Russian amateur translations of
Victor Sorokin and two internet communities "Potter's Army" headed by Anastasia
Timokhina and "Snitch" headed by Andrey Sokolov.
