The Green Pledge
About Friends of the Earth
Friends of the Earth is the world's largest grassroots environmental network, uniting 76 national
member groups and some 5,000 local activist groups.
With over 2 million members and supporters around the world, we campaign on today's most
urgent environmental and social issues including climate change, forest protection, clean energy and
indigenous rights.
The Green Pledge is one of Friends of the Earth’s exciting projects.
The Green Pledge involves taking 5 personal actions for one week to limit your carbon emissions to
50% of the average Australian. By getting friends and family to sponsor you for your efforts, you will
be helping fund our Renewable Energy campaign.
The Green Pledge will be taking place in the first week of September and is aiming to engage
participants from across the State.
